Introduction

Welcome to our Foundation Course - Understanding Mental Wellbeing. It is my hope that this course begins to expand some of the foundational ideas we teach at Mental Wellbeing Centre, and begins to offer you a new way of seeing your mind and the world around you. This course is primarily video-based, but some of the lessons also have activities to complete. It would help us a lot if you would be willing to do a short check in at the start and end of the course using the forms included so that we can ensure we are delivering a programme that is useful to you.

I really hope you enjoy this course - let's get started!

Course Learning Objectives:

After completing this course, participants will:

  • Be able to appreciate and remember that human reality is thought-based and will recognise that thought-based content is illusory in nature.

  • Appreciate and remember that unconscious understanding is regularly woven into thought-based realities, causing distortion to a person's perspective and experience of life.

  • Be able to understand and express what a mentally healthy understanding and experience of life is.

  • Be able to appreciate and remember many common misunderstandings that people generate in life.

  • Be able to analyse their own thought-based reality and evaluate it as healthy and accurate, or unhealthy and distorted. If specific unconscious misunderstanding is identified, they will experience a noticeable improvement in wellbeing.
